Growth Strategy

The growth strategy is evangelism, missions and leadership development. The local pastors will focus on discipleship. We will come together for missions projects as well as training opportunities for pastors and their staff.

We will focus on pastors and churches in Richmond, Franklin, Smithfield and Suffolk. Each pastor will receive an opportunity to take classes through Grimke Urban Labs.

We will combine with the Peninsula, Bishop S.L. Green Memorial and W.P. Wiggins Memorial districts for the annual Bishop’s visit. We will support the Peninsula for one night of their district conference.

Events

The district will hold at least 4 events a year to gather the members of the district for worship and fellowship. The district can also meet when possible for collective outreach and evangelism events. The members of the district will be asked to support ALL jurisdictional events as well such as Worker’s Meeting, AIM, Convocation and TRIAD conference.

Planned Geographical Reach

The district plans to focus on churches within the geographical boundaries of the cities of Suffolk and Franklin along with the counties of Isle of Wight and Surry.
